About Soul Priority

Soul Priority is an independent occupational therapy practice offering assessment, treatment, supervision, and training services in support of mental health and wellbeing. Michelle Knowles, the practitioner, holds the following qualifications and registrations:

  • HCPC registered (Health and Care Professions Council)
  • Member of BAOT/RCOT (British Association of Occupational Therapists / Royal College of Occupational Therapists)
  • Enhanced DBS certified
  • Undertakes regular safeguarding training

By booking services with Soul Priority, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Scope of Services

Soul Priority provides occupational therapy services including:

  • Assessment (occupational therapy and sensory modulation assessment)
  • Treatment and intervention
  • Clinical supervision for occupational therapists and allied professionals
  • Training for individuals and organisations

Initial Enquiry and Booking

Initial enquiries (telephone, email, or face-to-face) lasting up to 20 minutes are free of charge.

Booking confirmation by email, letter, or telephone from the practitioner constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. You are expected to attend booked appointments.

Assessment

An occupational therapy assessment is recommended to establish your needs and goals.

Full Occupational Therapy Assessment: Up to 2 hours (first session) plus 1 hour follow-up. Includes a comprehensive report and agreed treatment plan. Cost available on the website.

Sensory Modulation Assessment: Up to 1.5 hours. Includes a Sensory Assessment report. Cost available on the website.

Payment terms: 50% of assessment cost invoiced after the initial session (payable before the follow-up). Remaining balance plus travel charges (if applicable) due upon completion and receipt of your report and treatment plan. Full balance payable within 15 days of invoice date by bank transfer. Treatment does not commence until the balance is paid.

Treatment Sessions

Treatment is agreed upon completion of assessment and receipt of your report and treatment plan. Sessions establish measurable goals reviewed regularly.

Session format: Standard sessions last 1 hour; longer sessions available if beneficial.

Location: Sessions held in-person within London and East Surrey (in a mutually agreed location) or via secure video conferencing platforms.

Payment: You are invoiced after each session. Payment by bank transfer, due within 15 days of invoice date.

Additional services: Writing programmes, reports, letters, and research relating to your sessions are charged separately at the hourly rate pro rata.

Late payments: Subject to interest at 2% per month.

Travel: Travel time and mileage within London and East Surrey added to session cost, agreed at time of booking.

No crisis support: Soul Priority does not provide crisis intervention. In emergencies, contact your GP, psychiatrist, or local authority crisis unit (A&E, ambulance service).

Attendance and Cancellation

You are expected to attend all booked appointments.

Cancellation policy: Minimum 48 hours’ notice required for cancellations or rescheduling without charge.

Late cancellation or missed appointments: Charged at the full session rate.

Therapist cancellation: If the practitioner cancels due to illness or other reasons, no fee is charged. The appointment is rescheduled at the earliest convenience.

Late arrival: Please notify the practitioner immediately if you’ll be late. Clients more than 15 minutes late may not be seen and will be charged the full session fee. If seen, the session ends at the scheduled time; full fee applies.

Repeated missed appointments: May result in discharge from the service.

Clinical Supervision

Supervision sessions are mutually agreed on frequency and duration. Sessions are reviewed after the first 6 sessions and regularly thereafter.

Format: In-person (London and East Surrey) or via secure video conferencing.

Cost: Available on the website. Invoiced after each session; payment due within 15 days by bank transfer.

Session packs: 6-session packs invoiced at 50% upfront (due 2 days before first session); remainder payable at the end of the 6 sessions.

Training

Training is offered individually or for groups. Includes two 3.5-hour sessions plus two 1.5-hour implementation and supervision sessions.

Format: In-person or via secure video conferencing.

Cost: Available on the website; bespoke training quoted according to need.

Payment: 50% invoiced on booking (due 7 days before the start date); 50% due at the end of Part 1, prior to Part 2 commencement.

Video Consultations

Video consultations are conducted via secure, encrypted platforms.

  • The practitioner takes reasonable steps to ensure confidentiality; no internet system guarantees complete security
  • You are responsible for a stable, suitable internet connection
  • You are responsible for providing a private, quiet location for the session duration
  • Poor connectivity may affect session quality
  • You must disclose any health risks or contagious conditions before attending in-person appointments

Third-Party Funding and Insurance

You are responsible for verifying private insurance cover or third-party funding.

Soul Priority accepts no responsibility for denied claims or reimbursement issues arising from insurance or funding denials.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

All information shared during sessions is strictly confidential. We do not disclose information to third parties without your consent, except where required by law (safeguarding, court orders) or in your best interests.

Soul Priority complies with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Your information is used solely for provision of services and legal compliance.

A detailed Privacy Policy is provided to all new clients and is available on the website.

Recording Sessions

You must not record sessions without the practitioner’s prior written consent. This includes video, audio, and photography.

Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, up-to-date information
  • Follow therapy recommendations and attend appointments as agreed
  • Inform the practitioner of any health changes, medications, or conditions affecting your wellbeing
  • Respect the practitioner’s professional boundaries
  • Not disclose confidential information about the practitioner to third parties without consent

Product Recommendations

Soul Priority may recommend equipment or products to support your therapy goals. Recommendations are based on professional judgement. We accept no liability for performance, suitability, or safety of third-party products. You are responsible for purchase decisions and related warranties.

Therapist’s Right to Terminate Treatment

Soul Priority reserves the right to terminate treatment if circumstances indicate the intervention is not appropriate or safe for you or the practitioner.

Limitation of Liability

Soul Priority strives to provide effective occupational therapy but cannot guarantee outcomes. We are not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses
  • Loss of earnings (except during active treatment, not after disciplinary findings)
  • Any outcomes of treatment or therapy

You acknowledge that occupational therapy cannot guarantee specific results. Treatment effectiveness depends on multiple factors including your engagement, circumstances, and external factors beyond the practitioner’s control.

Complaints and Feedback

If you have concerns or complaints:

  1. Discuss the matter initially with the practitioner
  2. If unresolved, submit written complaints to: hello@soul-priority.com
  3. If still unresolved, contact the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC):

Amendments to Terms

Soul Priority may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version is available on the website or upon request. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law. Any disputes are resolved according to English law and the jurisdiction of the English courts.
